Economist
Diego González González
PhD Candidate in Economics, Universidad Loyola Andalucía
I am an economist based in Spain. My work sits at the intersection of applied microeconomics, public policy evaluation, agri-food and food systems, and reproducible empirical research. I am especially interested in using careful data work, econometric methods, and transparent computational workflows to produce evidence for policy-makers.
I am a Junior Analyst at AIReF and a Data Replicator for the Journal of Political Economy. I previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Bank of Spain and as an Applied Economist at Pareto.AI, and I have also worked extensively with the OECD Trade and Agriculture Directorate, first as an intern and later as a consultant, contributing to analysis on food loss and waste, sustainable food choices, scenario analysis using the partial equilibrium model Aglink-Cosimo, interactive policy tools, and AI-assisted evidence workflows, including ongoing work on food systems policy evaluation, online resources for policy-makers, and applied AI training.
